4 years ago this week
when the world was very different,
I flew to the other side of the planet
to deliver a Risk Forward® keynote
and Rock The Room® workshop
to a few hundred entrepreneurs from Japan.
Backstage, before the event,
I reviewed key words and phrases with the translator
to customize my material.
It was important to make the content relevant
and specific to the Japanese audience.
This 18-second clip of that moment
has become a funny favorite,
so I thought I’d share it here to bring you a smile.
In spite of the fact that “the world has changed”
one thing never will:
the importance of people feeling seen and heard and CONNECTED.
Whomever you serve––clients, customers, patients, students––
how can you pay attention to the details of their lives
and reference those specifics when you communicate?
How can you customize your points and insights
to leave a lasting impression?
It’s often the smallest details that make the biggest difference.
