Years ago,

I delivered a presentation

for the sales team members

at Precor, the company that

manufactures fitness equipment.

And a few weeks ago,

(to a room of 1200 leaders in

the financial services industry)

I told the story of what happened there

and the revelation

that I never saw coming. 🙂

Throughout my Precor keynote,

the audience had been supremely attentive,

and as a result, I gave one of the

best performances of my career.

So I share this story now

(and its surprise ending)

when I talk about the power of listening

and helping others perform at their best.

Because the fact is,

the quality of your attention

affects the quality of people’s expression.
