Well here you get
to see me wipe out.
First, read below and then
watch the full 1-min. video
because it’s got some fun moments,
and it’s a pretty great metaphor
for work and life.
It takes a lot of strength
for any of us to get “out from under”
. . . and up.
A launch is NEVER easy.
There are a ton of forces
pushing the other way.
(Look how much water is flooding over me.)
It’s easy to fall early on.
(Check out my mega wobble!)
But you focus and align;
you find your balance;
and you get used to the speed,
strain, angles, and chop.
The key is that you’re up!
You’re moving,
The sun is out.
The wind is in your face,
and you’re flying.
I love these times.
You’re in your groove.
YES!
Then—whoa—some unexpected waves.
You wobble, recover . . . but not quite.
Crossing the wake is hard enough
and doing it off-balance
is nigh impossible.
Wham…you’re down!
And > then > this > part > is > key:
you get up again,
recover your focus,
and finish strong.
And when you return,
your peeps are cheering—
not because you did it perfectly,
but because you went out there
and gave it a shot.
Welcome to life.
Risk Forward & Ski On,
P.S. This was my first time waterskiing in over 20 years!
P.P.S. Feel free to forward this to someone who needs a bit of encouragement.
