A few years ago, on Thanksgiving night, I was scheduled to fly down to Brazil to deliver a keynote for a big event.

Then some unexpected events transpired.

These included:

• Getting kicked out of a consulate
• Meeting two men behind McDonald’s to take a photo
• And finding myself intentionally en route to a country other than Brazil
