When it comes to communicating effectively,
there are a variety of ingredients to consider.
One key insight from my
Rock The Room® Performance System
is what I call PSU:
Passion, Stakes, Urgency.
Great communication includes all three.
Whether you’re incentivizing a team,
a client/customer or even
a family member or friend,
if you want your message
to be received and acted upon,
then it must have these elements woven in:
Passion – Why is this idea, initiative, action or activity important? Why do you care?
Stakes – Why is it important/critical to the other person or people? What’s at stake if they don’t take action? People are always silently asking, “What’s in it for me?”
Urgency – What is the urgency? What happens if people wait to take action and if they continue as they are for another day/month/year? Why take action now vs. later?
If any single one
of these 3 components is missing,
the impact of your message
will be vastly reduced.
Risk Forward & Rock On,
P.S. During our recent Rock The Room® workshop (which continued through January 2025 with live group coaching calls) we dove into PSU in a profound way. This was one of the many tools I shared. The workshop was a big success. Those who attended described it in one word as: “Game-changing” “Transcendent” “Liberating”.
