This is a story
about the value of revisiting
positive earlier experiences….
In 1994, I purchased a set
of Tony Robbins cassettes.
At the time,
I didn’t tell my friends or family;
I was too embarrassed.
But I was EXCITED.
When the box arrived,
I listened to each tape diligently.
The exercises and ideas had a
significant influence on my life.
Not long after, I signed up for
a Tony Robbins live in-person event.
Once again, I didn’t tell anyone.
But it was amazing.
Not only did I learn
about mindset, belief systems,
identity, physiology, and health…
but I also thought to myself,
“Whatever Tony is doing
up there on stage is something
I think I’d like to do….
He’s teaching; he’s performing;
he’s entertaining; he’s influencing.”
That conference was a key
inflection point, inspiring me to
eventually pursue the career I have now.
Fast forward to 2015, with my
speaking business fully underway.
and I’m invited to present at an event,
sharing the platform with Tony.
Who would have thought?
(And yes, when it comes to diversity,
that line up was woefully imbalanced.)
I listened again as he spoke, and learned.
This November 2024,
(30 years from when I first bought
the cassettes), I purchased
two tix to send a couple of friends
to a Tony Robbins live event.
And at the last minute,
I decided to attend as well.
Wowsahh, was it powerful.
YES – I did the firewalk.
YES – I was immersed in every exercise.
And YES – I got a lot out of it.
Just because you’ve participated
in an experience in the past
doesn’t mean you won’t get
a TON out of going through it again.
So for you…
what workshops, retreats, events,
journeys, or adventures had a
significant positive influence
on your life?
And what if you were to
revisit one of those?
We’re so often looking ahead
to the new, but it’s worth recalling
what inspired you long ago, and
consider returning to it once again.
Risk Forward & Rock On,
P.S. Our Rock The Room® Elite Group Experience workshop is coming up Dec 12-13! We’re ALMOST sold out with one spot left. Not only do we have newcomers participating, but 4 people who have been through Rock The Room® and are returning as alum as I did with the Tony Robbins events. The material is new for them, because they’re each at a whole new level in their careers.
